CUPPAD is designated as the Economic Development District (EDD) for the Central Upper Peninsula by the Economic Development Administration (EDA). We serve the six-county region by providing leadership for the locally-based, regionally driven economic development process that includes the involvement of the public, private, and non-profit sectors to establish a strategic blueprint for regional collaboration.
This strategic blueprint is also known as a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (or CEDS), and is a strategy-driven plan for regional economic development. It can also be referred to as a roadmap, designed to provide the framework for coordination between individuals, organizations, local governments, and private industry to facilitate and engage in meaningful conversation and debate about the economic direction of the Central region.
CUPPAD can facilitate and assist with projects and applications that may be eligible for an EDA grant program. Please contact Ryan Soucy at rsoucy@cuppad.org for more information.
