Michigan State University Extension is hosting three zoom-connected locations in the UP for Citizen Planner!
This program begins Monday October 5, registration closes September 25.
Local officials have a responsibility to help their communities manage the impacts of economic change and be part of the solutions to challenges their communities face. Local communities that proactively plan to succeed in the New Economy can improve their quality of life and overall sustainability. The Citizen Planner Program empowers local officials to shape the future of their communities by providing them with the tools and education they need to lead.
The Citizen Planner Program will be offered at three locations in the Upper Peninsula in Fall 2026. The satellite locations will be connected to each other and to the live instructors via Zoom. Sessions will run Monday evenings from 6-9 p.m. ET (5-8 p.m. CT) on the following dates: October 5, 12, 19, 26, November 2, and 9. Classes will be held in:
- Sault Ste. Marie - Sault EDC, 2345 Meridian St., Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783
- Munising - City Hall, 301 E Superior St., Munising, MI 49862
- Iron River - West Iron District Library, 116 W Genesee St., Iron River, MI 49935
