PUBLIC NOTICE: Availability of Central UP Materials Management DRAFT Plan

PUBLIC NOTICE 
AVAILABILITY OF CENTRAL UPPER PENINSULA MATERIALS MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

That the Central Upper Peninsula Materials Management Planning Committee will have a public comment period and hold a public hearing to receive comments on the proposed Central Upper Peninsula Materials Management Plan, prepared pursuant to Part 115, Solid Waste Management, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (MCL 324.11571 to 324.11587). This Plan encompasses solid waste disposal, recycling, and organics diversion facilities and activities in Alger, Delta, Dickinson, Marquette, Menominee, and Schoolcraft County.

Comment Period: The proposed plan will be available for public review and comment for a period beginning November 2 and continuing through January 20, 2027.

Public Hearing: A public hearing will be held at Board Room of the Delta County Service Center: 2920 College Ave, Escanaba, MI 49829 at 1:00pm ET on January 21, 2027, for the purpose of receiving public comment in person on the proposed plan. Local county meetings will be held at during the period; please check our announcements or the Materials Management Page regularly for scheduling.

Online Comments: Online written comments will be accepted through the online comment form at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CUPMMP27 throughout the duration of the public comment period from November 2, 2026- January 20, 2027.

Availability to Review in Person: Printed copies of the proposed plan are available at cost by contacting CUPPAD (see contact information below), or will be available for public inspection during regular business hours at the following locations:
